Absolutely stellar day on the water! We went out this past Saturday. Seas were flat the fish were plentiful and the whales were an added bonus. Watching the Hump Back whales bubble feed on the plethora of sand eels was absolutely amazing. The cod and pollack were stuffing themselves with the eels. When you threw a fish on the deck it would cough up a cup or so of eels, some of the eels were still alive. Good size to most of the fish. The pollack were about 28" long and the cod a little shorter than that. On one drop I came up with 3 keeper cod, the Capt. got them off the hooks and dropped back down ASAP and came up with 3 30" pollacks. 2 triples in a row. UNBELIEVABLE! Enjoy the pics.

There were 5 of us and we had around 70+ cod and 30+ pollack. And yes the weather was the best. One of those days you didn't want to end.

we caught over 150 cod and had 51 keepers.
Listening to the radio I think there were smaller fish to the south of where we were. We had maybe a dozen or so throw backs and kept 70+ cod and 30+ pollack.

Do the pollack have worms like the cod?
If they did, not nearly as many. Possibly none at all. Although I did notice the cod were much cleaner this year than last, worm wise.
