I had a pair of longbeards roosted last night and was pretty confident as to where they were going in the morning. With the weather man calling for rain, I opted to use the DoubleBull Blind....Since I was useing the blind...I decided to grab the bow also !
It seemed like it took forever for them to start Gobbleing and once they did. I returned some Turkey talk of my own. It wasn't long before they were on the way and I had the Camera rolling !
It was a surreal scene as two Longbeards emerged from the early morning fog and mist...At first they angled to my left and then they spoted the decoy and came right past the blind at 3 yards. As soon as they stopped at the decoy, I took my hand off the video camera's control arm and drew back the bow. The first bird was facing away from me at about 8 yards when I squeezed the release, and he went straight down !!!!
I drilled him right behind the right wing butt and the arrow exited next to his beard. He went down hard and never got up !!!
AWESOME FOOTAGE!!!! Dreary morning ...Open Hardwoods....Lighted Nock...8 yards away !!!! What a way to start the season !!!
