Broadhead is right, not many phones to chose from now that dont access the internet. So they all fall under that plan.

As for the service comments. Most of it is BS, did a little research and find out that in my area Verizon rents sprints towers, and does the same all over the country. So if you can get Verizon you sure will get Sprint service.

I would try and fight the fee. I have had nextel and went to cingular before it was bought out. Both weren't that good. I then went to verizon and I do have the multimedia on my blackberry so I don't mind the fee. I can tell you that my company had all sprint phones and service was horrible lots of dead spots where cell phones were needed. A rep for verizon came in and gave the company a whole bunch of phones and service has never been better. No more dead zones in the spots we work. Get the flip one that can be beat up. Its a good phone and thats the one I use at work.

The wife did try and fight it. Mindless idiots on the line. She finally told them that she was sorry and that we now will have to go to Sprint, and the lady told.
"Ok, thank you for calling Sprint" WTF is that about?

Your mistake is you stopped there. As soon as you don't get the answer you want from Verizon, ask to speak to the supervisor. Keep going up until you get the right answer.

Verizon has the best service no question. The problem is that they know this are taking advantage. They already charge the most and have now bullied the customers into paying more whether we like it or not. I prefer to deal with companies that appreciate my business. That was the case with TMobile. I got a great deal on new phones. Same with DirectTV. They appreciated me being a customer. I called them up and told them I want to upgrade to HD and I'm considering another provider so make me your best deal. They gave me free HD for one year ($120.00 savings per year) and knocked off another ($10.00 per month on my bill). I'm getting HD service $10.00 per month cheaper than I was paying for regular digital TV instead of 10 more just to keep me as a customer. Verizon FIOS would not bend a dime. I'm a satisfied DirectTV customer and did not buy into the FIOS BS.
