next year we will pay the state for a saltwater license
Not me! They can take the fish and stick it where the sun don't shine. Sold my boat 4 years ago because of all the regs. It sucks because I love saltwater fishing too. Atleast they stock fish in fresh water so I understand having to pay. Fee for saltwater fishing for WHAT?

i didn't register yet. i got into saltwater fishing back in july of 2003. i went as much as i could, did'nt catch alot. but loved being on the beach with even 1 line in the water . now i have to pay for this enjoyment as well [down][down]. how much f king money does the state want????? they can go f themselves if they want a dime out of me. i think we/i pay enough to hunt.

will a saltwater license keep beaches and waters open for us to fish in/on??? probably not

I think registering can in the long run help us.
Hopefully they see there are ALOT of recreational fisherman and dont slam the new catch shares down our throat, because that will end ocean fishing as we know it.

Register and let the numbers be heard, the better they see what the REAL numbers are the better we will be included in the Magneson rebuild

With this mentality, you might as well stop purchasing hunting licenses and permits too.
Yea, Ok. Good Idea. [eyeroll][down][down]

I just dont see why there is a need for a "Saltwater Fishing Licsense" there is a HUGE number of fishermen in this state there are way more fishermen in NJ, then there are hunters. And alot of young kids fish also.

This is just typical jersey bullshit, or federal or whatever group of nimrods made up this rule.

This is all about $$$$$.

Everyone should register this year and when they start charging nobody buy one.
I have no problem Registering. But, if they think I'm going to buy a "Saltwater Fishing Licsense" next year there nuts.

At least they stock fish in fresh water so I understand having to pay. Fee for saltwater fishing for WHAT?
They don't stock deer, but we all keep buying the license to hunt. The money is going to used for research to get a better idea of 'who' is catching the fish and what kind. This can go either way. A longer season for the recreational fisherman or a shorter one, same goes for the commercial guys. Right now they have no idea who is catching more fish. The fees will help get the data they need.
Same as hunting fees go to research to determine season length and harvest amount. The fee is needed to preserve the resource. They keep cutting our numbers and the length of our season based on fiction and guessing not fact.
I can only hope the money collected gets put to good use. The only place that collects fees and gets to keep that money is the Division of Fish and Wildlife. State can't touch there funds so that's who I want to collect the saltwater fee. The bureaucrats can't get their grubby paws on that money.

So are you gonna have to check-in your fish? They still won't know how many fish are being caught and what size they are. There research is all BS there are tons of fluke and every year they raise the size limit.[down]
