Show has gone down hill but if your into fishing stuff (not really for fly-fisherman) and live close it may worth a visit.

There normally is a small ..kinda cheezy in my opinion, gun show down the street at the holiday in on the same dates as the sportsman show .The signs will be everywhere. You cant miss it if your in the area.
The rockland co. show is cool to waste an afternoon. I usually go to pick up some fishing stuff and talk to some of the vendors that I know. It beats sitting in front of the tv.

This Suffern show (actually in Monsey NY) has gone way downhill compared to what it was back in the 1970's. Then there were boths by various firearms manufacturers, archery vendors had small ranges where you could try their bows and it was about 80% hunting and 20% fishing. Now it is 80/20 in favor of fishing.

One good thing about the show there is a gun show every year in a near by Holiday Inn that coincides with the Outdoor show.

There used to be a guy from Vermont there selling flies. He had olive hare's ears that are very effective at KLG. They also have that fly casting demo. It is good for beginning fly fisherman.

I guess you can say Suffern is suffrin as Capt. Dan put it.....

I remember the days 230 speaks of. It has turned around enough for me not to bother anymore.

If you click on the link above you will see the features and seminars are more geared to fishing. Nothing wrong with that if that is what you are into. I'd like to see it back to at least 50/50.
