Well cabin fever is starting to get to me, im gunna place an order on all my jig making kits and accesories.

For you guys that make your own, do you like powder paint or air brush?

BTW. Im going to start off with bass jigs and mabey move on to saltwater later. Any specific colors anyone would like to see made, or mabey test out for me?
Thanks
CJ

I just switched to powder this year. It is a lot easier and cost next to nothing. I painted 600 for 10 bucks. Airbrush paint doesn't hold up well and needs a base coat and then needs a top coat.

I use black/blue and brown/green for bass fishing. I may buy a few off ya. What shape are the jig heads, and are you putting a weed guard on them ?

I dip coated my first year and it is a lot of money and doesn't hold up well. Then I bought a air gun and compresser and all the paint , wasted more money. Try powder it is great for fast cheap paint that holds up.

Vinyl jig paint is the only thing I have ever used that does not chip off. Powder paint is good if you just work mud or sandy bottom, I used it for all my shad darts back in the seventys. The only problem was when you bounce bottom while trolling in the rocks the powder paint would pop off like peanut shells. Painting right after you cool the jigs from the mould is the best way to use any paint.
