it was said in jest when some one posted the gay pride flag, im a crossbow hunter and i support crossbow hunting in new jersey, people can say what they want about it, i enjoy it and made light of a post

my opinion on that is, i feel an addition season added, with an additional opportunity to harvest another buck would increase the amount of hunters, example..alot of people hunt bow, muzzy and shotgun, and of course buy permits and buck stamps, now a fourth season has been added, doesnt require a safety course and a fine opportunity at a buck, thats just my opinion

its like saying you are pro second ammendment and anti ar-15.. These crossbow threads just enforce why I hate this state and can't wait to get the hell out of here.. We should be sticking together as hunters,shooters,outdoors men and woman.. Not ripping each other on what tool we use. Someone mentioned muzzleloaders and shotguns being separate seasons.. That is another stupid idea to get more money out of us. Along with the even more stupid rifle permit.. Firearms license, muzzy permit, and rifle permit to hunt with a muzzy during a special season.. STUPID!! Just like making another season and permit for a crossbow. We should be sticking together to have the bag limits, buck tag limits, and QDM issues addressed for the health of the herd not if little johnny shoots a release fired rocket bow or one with a stock and trigger.. [wallmad]

I wouldnt see harm in a seperate XBOW Season, of course I think that would signifigantly increase the amount of hunters.

Yea, because people grab a Cross-Bow & go hunting, simple as that. There is not as much skill or effort required. But a Compound you must practice significantly with.

i agree with njhunter, it IS alot easier than a bow, i stated earlier it was easier than a bow, harder than a gun, i use a crossbow because i personally feel more confident in in my ability, for shot placement, same reason i use a scope on my muzzy, its all just my preferences

that sounds reasonable to me! Good for you for making the choice that is ethical! I wish more hunters would think like this! When I had every day to shoot and no shoulder/elbow issues I shot recurve.. As I had less time and more pain I went to compound and probably a crossbow in the not so far off future! We owe it to these creatures to give them the respect of a well placed lethal shot each and every time we take it. Just because you are not "making it harder" on yourself does not mean you are not having fun or it does not make you a bad hunter. Just an honest one that wants to have fun!

i bought mine at meltzers... they never even asked me! i wonder if they will get accurate readings... the guy running the machine might get tired of asking just to hear everyone bitch about it, so he in turn just presses any button he feels ...which leads to wrong info

Why are you so agaist x bows, i used to be the same but after meeting someone who needs one it changed my views, everyoine should be able to hunt.

BTW that last sentence dosent make any sense.

crossbow huting is not bow hunting. should be labeled under gun season or hav its own short season

I agree that crossbow hunting is not bowhunting I do not beleive we realy can give it it's own season but the F+G council made damn sure they ccan't dothat byy calling it a bow.
What is REALY needed is an accurate means of acounting for the crossbow harvest because history teaches u that WHEN bowseason negitivly impacts 6 day and other gun seasons it is the bowseason that gets impacted via mandate EAB, loss of winter bowseason gunseasons starting in Nov.
Someone asked or should I say stated "Sunday bow has it's impact and that is true but is it to take credit for all the increase in deer kills I think not but many behind the crossbow do not want the real harvest to be shown go figure.

I'm not "so against" Cross-Bows. I simply "State Facts". Quite honestly, I could care less what anyone hunts with. BUT, that doesnt change the way I feel about them, I still say its not a Bow.

wish i had a crossgun tonight i missed a big doe at 20 yrds[wallmad]..no problem with that other contraption:D point aim kirplunk..."dead deer"..man i love BOWhunting..it just feels good
