Fletched Some Arrows Myself

I am getting good. Fletched a few from my brand new dozen of Black Hawk Vapors (3000 spine)... left helical.

Pictures are not that good because I left my camera in MikeP's truck...had to utilize the camera phone:

Look nice Kris. Try using arrow wraps for a few, it will make re-fletching much easier.

Easy isnt it. Ive been making my own for 8 years now. Any colors i want etc. Only problem i have is making time to do my own since i make alot for other people.

Feathers are nice because they are more forgiving, but they don't work so well if they get wet. Then again, that's what I've been told

What jig are you using Drag?

Yoda....dont know if your being sarcastic or not....but if you bareshaft tune the the bow even with wet feathers they will hit where they are aimed. They fly poorly when the bow is tuned poorly.

They look great but before you know it you'll be capping them, cresting them, and next will be the feather burner or chopper. If you really want a unique look try feather splicing or tipping but be warned other archers will be pawing your arrows all the time and you'll definitely be getting requests to build arrows from your buddies....

I knew I was in trouble when I had to start my arrows in July and barely finished them by bow season. I was making my own woodies and after I completed them I almost hated shooting at anything but an animal.

It was fun but finally decided that scouting and hunting were more important and less toxic,:'), some of those paints and thinners could really knock you for a loop.

I love the blazer vanes. They are awesome never thought a vane could stabilize a fixed blade head like they do.I can group razorcaps with them out to 40yds[up]

Thanks Rich couldn't help the arrow post when you start making your own wood arrows it can get pretty involved and before you know it your hooked....

Hooked? To the degree I was addicted once to making arrows, it was bad! I thought I was an indian. I had every tool I could get my hands on. Dipping,cresting,feather splicing,shaft splicing I got crazier spending hours! I hope you don't ever get like this any of you.Extremist!Differant woods and strains and top coats experimentations. I'm glad my stuff was stolen it freed me from myself.
