Well I guess it is true that stripers like nasty weather.

I launched this morning at about 5:30 with a pretty bad surf and a crazy swell out in the ocean.

I didn't get anything in the dark but once I was able to find birds working about 1 mile offshore....it was lights out striper fishing.

I landed over 20 stripers with most of them being well over keeper size. The bigger fish came while jigging under the birds and trolling Ava 47's with a white tail.

thats awesome man, you wouldnt catch me in a kayak on the ocean a mile out esp in the dark, helll nooo. hhaah good stuff though[up]

Have you ever had any problems with other boats? I've got a 33' sportfish and have to admit that I've been startled once or twice outside Barnegat by people a mile or more offshore in a kayak in some questionable seas for my boat.

Thanks guys!! Johnt....no, I never had a problem with bigger boats while being out front at all. There have been several instances with power boats, but for the most part all the boat capts. are very respectful for us "smaller" crafts.
