FID and pistol permit turn around time. County, Town, and time.

Now over 180 days. Chief still says waiting on FBI. Does anyone have contact information at the FBI to confirm if it was ever sent back?

That's nuts, have you called them? By law they have to give you your permit within 30 days or render a good reason why you were denied. I would call them and through the law at them. They are in violation of the law period. Yes you take a chance of them screwing you over but, at this point what do you have to lose were talking 6 months here. they haven't done anything. Call the State Police I was told they will produce action. I was told to wait about 60days then call the State Police. Thankfully I got it in 45 days. I know someone who through the law at his PD then had it the next day. It's a crap shoot and i can't tell you the out come but, as you said you have been waiting over 6 months now and counting. 47 days and still no news about my fid card or hand gun permit called my PD twice clerk secretary never answers the phone or returns teh call when i went there she told me the detective who is handling my case is not available call and leave a message for her and she said my papers never came back so they are waiting for the papers to get back before they could give me some update by the way im in hillsborough nj
keeping my fingers crossed

Keep calling them every week. Next time you call get the date when they sent your paperwork out. It should never take longer than 3 weeks unless something was missing.

I applied for my card and permits on Sept.4th, up til yesterday nothing, I called the State police yesterday and they said they got my info and returned them to the PD on Sept. 23rd, So i called the PD and they blamed the state police and i said nope talked to them, then they blamed my references, nope they returned them, then i got the attitude and I'll call you back.(BS) Then my buddy called me last night and said he saw my paper work last week it went to the cheif what takes so long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@ Bloodtrail u r so right i kept on calling and kept on getting the run around called state police and was told the paper work was sent back over a month ago called back my PD and told them and WOW lady found my paper work all of a sudden and told me that chief is so busy that he didnt get a chance to sign my paper work they will try but its a lot of over load chief has than i asked to speak with the chief and was told that they would do me a favor and put my paperwork as urgent and was told that my paperwork would be put on the top so chief could sign it as soon as he gets a chance come to think about it if i didnt listen to bloodtrails and didnt call i would still be waiting may be another 6 months ,,,,very disturbing but again i have some hope for next week as i was told it should be done before the 14th of this month which is a week from now

fINALLY TOday got the call from pd to pick up my fid card adn hand gun permit stopped after work and already picked it up i m so happy well it took 54 days in Hillsborough nj for the whole process
thank you all for your help,,,will be shopping for a hand gun and a shot gun next week,,,glock 17 and most probally beretta xtrema 2

Paterson nj, Passaic co.
f.i.d. and pistol permit 9 F@*!ing months !!!

This is no joke ,This just happened to a good friend of mine. He had no criminal backround ,not even a ticket ever on his record.The story from paterson pd was that the state police caused all the delays.

Readington Township , Hunterdon County

Just applied a week ago on Nov 4th and called to set up fingerprinting in Glen Gardner . First available appointment was for Nov 16th so i ll go do it next week.
Interesting that they ask you to sign a voluntary waiver that if they cannot process you in 45 days you will not complain . Interesting .

My last handgun permit was a total of sixty one, (61) days. I do not have the pleasure of a municipal Police Dept. so I had to utilize the Local State Police. Friend of mine in Mon. County was issued within seven, (7) days![confused]
