Met my buddy at our zone 5 spot. As pull in, his cousin comes out of the woods and says he shot a buck and can't find him. We go in to search and find the deer in 5 minutes. After field dressing and a few pictures, we decide to scrap our hunt and help him transport, tag, and butcher his deer. On our way out, the landowners grandson and his 2 buddies are walking up the dirt road. The grandson is in full camo and facemask with a bow. His 2 buddies both have shotguns and orange vests. None had a license. As soon as he approaches us he says, "hey man, I hope you don't mind, I cleared out all the "brush" by your stand and built a ground blind around it". WTF? He says his buddies are gonna do some squirrel hunting while he bowhunts! WTF? He looks in the back of my truck and says "YOU SHOT MY BIG 6!" WTF? We poke and prod with a few questions and one of the guys slips by saying they're gonna guard the ladder stand for "THE BEAR" while the other bowhunts! WTF. We were all dumbfounded by these 3 stooges. I have no idea what the real story was, I just know these yahoos ruined my spot. My buddy and I spent hours putting up stands, carefully clearing shooting lanes, and moving stands around. He comes in with a quad and chainsaw and undoes all our hard work! Some people! WTF? No licenses, t-shirts and shotguns, and a pack of Newports!!!

Same thing happened to my husband he lost that property due to a grandson who doesn't even hunt but his buddies due. They are so stupid they were at Wawa telling my husband what a great spot they had and they were cutting off the little girl and her dad from the deer. My husband laughed walked away my daughter has harvested a 8 my husband a 9 this year. Thanks for pushing them to them. It's about RESPECT!! We can share just don't do something to ruin it for others!!

If I were you I'd weigh the consequences. do you pay or help out to be on the property? Do you think the grandfather knows that his grandson is retarded? If in fact you pay and the kid is in fact known to have a screw loose I would let him have it. Tell him your frustrations and remind him of the fact that he isn't properly licensed. Remind how long you've been hunting there and that in a few hours him and his putz friends ruined everything that you have built. If the shits hits the fan and you get kicked off, no biggy, property is shot anyway. If not problem solved.

I agree except the kid is 30 and is not a kid and should know better. I think they are trying to push your buttons so you guys don't hunt there any more. I am sure they know about all the dear in the area. Zone 5 is full of local kids the drive around all night with spotlights. I know, I live and grew up here and I see spot lights all the time.. I work random hours and take back roads home when I am coming home in the middle of the night to do my own version of this type of scouting. I see I am not alone all the time and wonder how many of those same lights I see have a gun behind them.. These are adults and you will have to call them on there bullshit. They will have to be told like men that you are allowed to be there and they need to respect that. being douchebags they are they will probably make your life hell there.. [wallmad]

sounds like a bum deal. you need to think quicker. i would have told them your pulling the stand out for some made up good reason. i would then use a climber in that spot and take in and out if its that great a spot. look at it this way. youve had access to a great spot through a personal friend that knows somebody you dont.i would never rely on future use unless i knew the person or relative direct. i hunt an area where its unwritten rule is there are so many stands up that its first come first serve whether its yours or not and everyone is in agreement. i had a guy bowhunting get in rickety wooden stand 20 feet from my blind on a ridge while muzzleloading and he knew i was there. he just waved to me and kept hunting. some people have weird ways and thoughts about what hunting is.do they have a license and just not wearing it? . i wouldnt jump to conclusion although its supposed to be worn.
