I applied for my card and permits on Sept.4th, up til yesterday nothing, I called the State police yesterday and they said they got my info and returned them to the PD on Sept. 23rd, So i called the PD and they blamed the state police and i said nope talked to them, then they blamed my references, nope they returned them, then i got the attitude and I'll call you back.(BS) Then my buddy called me last night and said he saw my paper work last week it went to the cheif what takes so long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love how these fine people who swore an oath to uphold the law lie right to your face then lie some more then get mad at YOU when you call them on thier lies:( . Total BS[wallmad]. I would have recorded the conversation everytime you call, because they are recordding as well and it may come in handy if you ever need to file suit to finally get your permit.

Didn't think of that, thanks for the info. I even told these people i'm need the card for an armed security job,u know to get a better job to take care of my family and i also need it to be an instructer for hunter ed, but do you think they actually give a s!@#$ about people in there community HELL NO

Its frustrating I know. Where I used to reside(Berkeley Twp) I had family members that worked for the department so I knew what was going on every step of the way. Where I live now (Toms River) Im told that the chief only signs a specific number each month regardless of how many are completed and are just waiting approval. Its BS

oh and did i forget a say they told me after all that, it should be really in another week or 2

If they are busy with other stuff and doing this is really a hassle, I could almost understand that.. What I hate is the attitude you get when you go in and ask any questions about your permits.. Like you are some kind of criminal scumbag.. They never talk to my wife like that and in fact she gets her permits very fast.. So guys all you need is big boobs and bleach blonde hair next time:D

what town?

I recently talked to a friend of mine down in Paterson who put in for his f.i.d. and a pistol permit. It took 9 months......yes I said 9 months! I could not believe it. He got the same story about the state police being the reason for the delay. My local pd friends gave me the same story when I asked them about it.I just cant imagine why this has to take so long.

I actually had a decent experience in Mount Olive maybe 13 years or so ago. When one of my references forgot to send back his response, the local PD called me and asked me to ping him. Shortly after that, I received another call telling me everything was in order, but the Chief was ill and in the hospital and not expected to come out. That went on for over 2 months until I received a third call that some 13 or 14 completed FID applications were sitting on the Chief's desk for signature so they decided to appoint an interim Chief who wound up signing my card. It was well over the 30 day period for certain, but there were other things involved and the PD kept me in the loop the entire time.
