I want to fish the Rockaway River this fall trout season but have no clue on how to get there.Ive searched all over the net to try to find directions to the Rockaway River but have failed to do so.

I'm from Union County. Anyone with directions to this place? Thanks!

Long ride[confused] Take the Parkway North to 280. Take 280 west till it merges with route 80. take route 80 west to exit 39(denville) get off on 46 and turn North on main street. The river runs through a park in the middle of town by the hospital, and they stock at the main street bridge

if you dont want to be fishing in a city drive the extra way and hit the paulinskill and flatbrook[up]

paulinskill and flatbrook
Both nice spots. And the Musky got stocked too

If you like to trout fish, it would be worth the effort to get up real early and drive up north. Echo Lake isn't really meant for trout.

Besides the area that MTH gave you, there are others for the Rockaway. And OneShot's recommendations, too. Nice flyfishing, too.

I grew up walking distance from trout areas in the Rahway River, but it is much nicer up north.

Good luck.
