It's not the Barbed Wire Club. We're called " Missed Opportunities Hunting Club " (because we all have had a lot of them while hunting) and last year was our first. All the property is huntable except for an open area smaller than a football field we use for parking an a buffer zone.

DBuck, Hi! is there something I should know about this Barbed wire club. I was invited to join the club, they seem to have a lot of land in three different counties. Let me know if I'm making a mistake here?

El Jefe... Look, I'm not going to bash them, but I have heard nothing good about them, a few guys that I know has had problems with them trespassing by them driving deer off of their land and onto theirs.
there's other things that I have heard about them to but like I said, I'm not going to bash them. I'm not saying not to join them but just Enter carefully.

barbed wire is huge with properties all over -- we used to hunt next to a property they leased and there president richie would come over all the time and want to merge clubs and take over our property- only thing i have heard about him is that he likes control and it is his way or no way- a few of the guys in my club used to belong to the fishing portion of barbed wire and liked it but hunting was different- also barbed wire dues are based on seasons -bow season is 1 fee- shot gun season is another fee - small game and etc.. so it adds up

My club isn't like that. We just want a place to hunt. One price for everything, just enough to cover the cost of lease and insurance. If we have anything left over it goes back into the club . Not into some ones pocket.

Titus! let me correct you here. Barbed wire is broken down into three segments. Deer hunting, Bird Hunting and Fishing. You either belong to one or all. For fishing they lease a property off exit 12, route 80, I saw their operation is real impressive. For the bird hunting they lease a huge piece of land in Clinton, Hunterdom, County. For deer they have numerous pieces in three counties. You CAN NOT hunt small game in the deer properties, and there is only fishing in the fishing property, etc., etc. As for the deer hunting part is one price 450 dollars for the year and 550 for the new members, that is bow, shotgun and muzzloader. Pheasants hunters can't hunt on the deer land or visa versa.
Yes the man runs a tight ship, but I saw their by-laws and I like them.

are you in the club?? i know people that WERE and it sounds good until you are in!! big richie keeps alot of the prime spots for himself and his kids/pals who are in the club - just what i have heard from ex-members- but what i do know for fact is he used to walk onto our property whenever he wanted to and would talk for as long as you let him and he would always make an attempt to MERGE!
