You might be addicted to Newjerseyhunter.com, if you turn on your computer and sit reading posts with horrific lightning crashing all around your house! Oh, there goes one of the neighbors trees! Where is the HOLY S--T smiley when you need it?

I can't make it - Too much driving for one day if I go to the picnic.

I'm going to be at a Lakewood Blue Claws Game and then the Pt. Pleasant Beach FD vs. Pt. Pleasant Beach PBA ball game (after the Blue Claws Game) for a benefit for a memorial for a friend who was killed in Iraq on the first day of "cease fire" in the first Humvee in the convoy that got hit last year on June 29, 2004 - Sgt. Allan Sherman, USMC Reserves. He was in my father's Boy Scout Troop and was a fellow Eagle Scout. [sad]

My Dad (Ex-US Naval Aviator) was his mentor and Dad talked him into joining "Uncle Sams Misguided Children" to get law enforcement experience after his attempts to become a local police officer were ruined by an unfortunate "run in" with the law in NYC.

Gentlemen,
With our recently achieved winning season in the balance, the FD is once again taking to the field of battle. Sunday August 21 is our next game at Blueclaws stadium. Once again, it is the old police vs fire action as we take on the Local P.B.A. team. The benefit for this game is the Alan Sherman Memorial Fund. This fund is through the local Ocean County Marine Corp league and they are looking to create a memorial in his honor. All proceeds from the game will go towards that memorial. Tickets will be available for $10 each. The ticket is good for the late afternoon/early evening Blueclaw game followed by the FD/PD softball game under the lights.
