Packer, I don't think you're a tire kicker at all. There is such a variety of 1911 styles available ranging from around $600. to $5000. for a high-end Wilson. Also, there are military spec. models, tactical models and target shooting models. Guys like me have more than one and are curious to see what you're looking for and maybe would let one go.

i am looking for something the 500-900 range i am open to alot of differnet thing i have a few polymer pistols but nothing like a 1911

You should look at used Kimbers in that range. Kimbers are a great bang for the buck, I owned two of them. Paid around $1200. new each for them and sold them for around $750., in excellent/like new shape.
