Unless its a monsoon I will be out. I have been out of the game for about 10 years. I went out for the first time last week. I had 3 does milling around my stand for about 15mins. I could have had a nice shot but did not take it but its nice to feel that adrenaline rush again I'm hoping that same situation arises with a big ol buck. Oh and after about 2 hours I got down from my stand and went or a walk and ran into a big old bear that was not scared of me at all. These things are getting bolder and bolder. I waved my arms and he just stood there about 40 yards away like a guard dog protecting his property line. I can only imagine his thoughts... "I am not running.. this is my territory, oh and is that a recurve that you are carrying? HAHA You best turn around and be on your way" LOL and that's exactly what I did.

I will be out there testing my rain gear..But if it is raining steadily I will only hunt for a few hours in the AM and again in the late afternoon. Maybe still hunt a little. One of my best bucks came during a heavy rain. I was soaked so I decided to walk some motor cycle trails on the edge of a gravel pit. I saw the top a small tree moving back and forth and I stalked within 18 yards of a nice 8 point that was really working this tree over and put an arrow thru him. He only ran 10 yards then started making a scrape. I thought I missed and was nocking another arrow when he just fell over..
