WHO WILL BE APPLYING FOR A CCW IN NJ?

Never. Don't want the responsibility that goes with concealed carry. God forbid you ever get into a situation where you have no other choice but to use deadly force. With today's judicial system you have a heartbeat to make a life and death decision, the courts have a lifetime to pick it apart. As a permit holder you are guilty till proven innocent. The last thing you want is to be stuck in a jailcell while two overpriced guys that know less about firearms then you, decide whether you will be mowing your grass next week or trying to avoid gang rape in the shower......

Slayer, I get where you are coming from and completely understand. I have never been in a place where I wished I was armed. If a place looks that bad, I avoid it. The last thing I want is another overblown expensive permit that some A$$hole from the Trenton Kremlin wants to hold over my head. Trust me, even if the government twists NJ"s arm this administration will figure out how to booger up the process for whoever wants to carry. Keep in mind, NJ is all about MONEY$$$$

I worked 30 years in Orange NJ and now the last two in East Orange NJ . We have customers in Newark, Irvington ect. come for a day with me lol
I worked on a job site off of Northfield Ave in West Orange back in 07,08 never had an issue other than the local PD giving us static over starting equipment too early in the am.

California just showed what can happen with these CCW permits. The information "somehow leaked out" on every permit owner that has a CCW permit in the state. That includes the owners name, address, race, birthdate, type of firearm and profession. Not exactly something you want floating around for the general public to get a hold of. I realize this is California's problem but it's just one more reason not to trust government- ANYWHERE

Once again, the socialists will have the last say of how you and I live. Once elected, it's a full term of dictatorship and further removal of our rights. Remember, we are a free country (or at least used to be).........

It won't go to a judge until the Chief does background checks and approves or disapproves. The chief has 60 days to do the checks.

One of the 7 laws that Murphy just signed will cause gun manufacturers and gun dealers nightmares. They can be held liable. The manufacturers may stop selling to NJ dealers and dealers could go out of business. We will see soon enough.
You watch and see how long PD's sit on those applications, this is going to be another "Just wait long enough and they will go away" things.... Keep in mind, the head dictator in the Trenton kremlin is a bleeding heart and doesn't like firearms not to mention he is hell bent on making NJ the California of the east.

Months??? You better add a whole lot more to that. Our rights have been trampled on for years in this communist state. Don't think for one moment anything is going to change anytime soon. For every court case that goes in our direction there will be 8 more BS rules you will need to comply with to allow your paperwork to sit on someone's desk.....

We have one of the worst anti-gun state administrations in the country with the head clown wanting to make NJ like California. That basically means that some thug on the street carrying a totally illegal weapon will get far more legal consideration then a law-abiding citizen, especially if he rolls over on some of his buddies.

Act reasonably to save your life, your families life, or others lives and you will be OK. Be sure about it though. Being sure may mean, in some circumstances, holding fire and putting yourself at a certain degree of risk before acting. Using your gun does not mean using it to stop a robbery at the 7/11 when you could have snuck out the door, or using your gun to stop someone threatening people with a baseball bat at the grocery store. Move on and let the police sort that stuff out. If you are going to use it for those instances then get good insurance and be ready for much litigation. If people are dying, you or your family are about to die, then I would use it.
"Reasonably" in one person's mind may be totally off the wall in another's. While I agree with most of what you say, there is all the litigation that follows even if something happens in your own home. NOTHING in the state of NJ is cut and dried when it comes to firearms especially a fatality. The laws are loaded with ambiguity and unfortunately it takes a very expensive lawyer(s) to sort all that out after the fact (Don't look for your insurance to be there with the checkbook either). Even if you get cleared by the police you still have the punitive damages sought by the family of the perpetrator. Here's the rub, you have less than a heartbeat to make a life and death decision on pulling the trigger, the law and the kangaroo court has a lifetime to pick it apart.

I'm in Jackson my references were contacted the officer said they had to schedule a court date I didn't know what that meant at the time. I'm hoping I don't have to be there I think that is total BS. What could they ask you that is not on the application?
The sky is the limit, this is the socialist republic of NJ where government knows best (even if we the people disagree). The very idea of a law-abiding citizen being able to defend himself with deadly force goes against the grain in a Disney fairy tale government. Locks keep honest people honest and only bad guys can carry firearms on the street.
