I think your questions were answered in your last thread asking the same exact thing.

BTW - if you put the original post where it belongs in the Zone 8 forum, then you would be able to find it there again without any problems. Posting in General Info is just aking for the thread to be buried and lost forever ;)

Too much pressure. These guys chase the deer around like they were on a man hunt for a fugitive from justice with a large reward. Hell they will even stomp on property if you don't keep an eye on them. There around I have about 30 around my house they come for chow every night at dark. Them bed down in the field in my front yard.

I remember a number of years ago, a club that I use to belong to killed a lot of deer one year, I felt it was over board...
Late in the season it was slim pickings to say the least.
The last day of the season about ten minutes of light left, this "herd" of deer crossed the main road and in single file went up the hedge row to the mountain top.
I counted 125 deer and lost light, and they still were coming.
A magnificent sight to see, when I thought that we hurt the population.
Bottom line... they herd up and become nocturnal when pressure and winter start to set in.

Zone 8 and 9 I've noticed a decline in the amount of deer on and around the surrounding properties I hunt, compared say to 6-8 years ago. I think and agree that unlimited antlerless and long seasons have numbers low, along with EHD, they've taken a beating.

Some deer deprivation shooting in august. But mostly the deer are herded up now. Bucks with bucks and does with does. Sometimes when I am out in zone 8 in Chester I don't see a single deer and then the next time I see 3-4 together. They are out there.

I hunt in Chester in zone 9 and have only seen 6 small does since Nov 15 this year. I hunt there 4 to 5 days a week. keep on shooting all the does and now we see what happens.Guys come up to me and say .How many deer did you get? I say 2 Bucks and they all puffed up and smiling and say I killed 19 deer. I am not impressed because I am talking to a killer not a hunter.

I'm very impressed and would like to thank the "killers" for helping to bring the deer population in check [up] Have you ever driven around Chester at night? Meet me at the Redwoods for a drink and I'll show you 100+ deer on the ride home ;)
