north the reds are starting to rub
north the **** will start going down hill soon
south k9's and **** still look good
rats will start biting soon, but the glands will fill up.
greys should look good till the end

UB is on.south reds will start to rub here soon. with milder winters in the south our **** last longer, as they do not den up as long with milder winters, most of the time I believe. it is amazing what the difference is with in a hours drive.

As soon as "muskrat love" is in the air, it'll be time for me to pull the conis.

Rat prices are looking good this season. There's no reason to send inferior fur to market.

Funny how this year seemed to be all about location. Rats were very spotty, with some sets producing very well & other spots that "looked" real good on the same creek coming up empty.

I have sets out till the last day. If I catch something on land that isn't good, I release. First year running water hard, so I can't answer that one from experience yet..I'll defer to a more seasoned water trapper.
