I'm not a waterfowl hunter, but what is the significance of sept 1st? opening day?

Is that the same for the shore area?

I'll be getting ready for early bow...since I've never been waterfowl hunting.

Sept 1st .... Last day to over bait...What I mean is I'll put out like 20#'s or so of bait in each spot and wont bait again ( only 2 or 3 #'s ) till I go and hunt that spot.

What are you baiting? I keep my **** feeders going until mid Jan.. I bait them in a few hollows so I can drop the dogs on real cold nights & pick up a hot track fast.

I'll use corn, soy, deer feed what ever I have at the time..I like to feed then stop for a week or 2 then feed again... this helps to keep the deer coming in to my bait site.

I will be taking a ride to stokes this weekend just to make sure that the geese are still using the pond i hunt and also to make sure that there is enough water i know ponds around here are low.
