Same here. We wait all year for tomorrow and it's gotta rain on our parade. Is everybody still going to go out if there's heavy rain??

I'll be out as long as I can take it. I'll be sitting in the woods by 4:30 AM... I'm gonna start yelping loud around 6:30 or so.... if no response by 8... then I'm heading for the powerline clearings to try... then home.

We just got back. We are soaked. We saw one hen and heard one gobbler around 9 - 9:30 (after the torrential downpour). Again we soaked. The little guy stuck through it with me. :)[mad]

No other hunters were out... just me, the little guy, and a lot of rain.

However, we still had fun. We saw a squirrel, two deer, a hen, and heard/talked to a gobbler.

The gobbler was definitely not "really" into it... you could tell by his voice and lack of excitement.

I went out, harvested a 14 lb Jake, 5 inch beard. I know that it isn't a great bird but this is the first bird that I called in myself, and I called him from a good distance. I only started hunting turkey 3 years ago and I didn't get out much last year,I shot a bird my first year out but my cousin called it for me,man it was exciting I was shaking like a leaf in the wind as it got closer. Man,what a great morning!!!!!!

I think that I was the only hunter out in zone 9,I didn't see any other hunters on any of the state land that I was hunting.
