I had the same problems with the red dot scope. That was my turn off. I noticed your recticle scope and was wondering how it fit your hunt. I think it's a good idea because you can actually us it as a spotting scope as the bird comes in. This help in judging a bird without all the movement. Nice!!

The scope really helped out with this bird...It was real thick where he came in..The extra magnafication really helped out at finding a hole in the brush...I went with a low power 2.5 fixed .. for the fact that your looking at shots closer than 45 yards...It also gives you a much larger field of view incase of a miss.. much easier to pick up a bird on the run for a follow up shot
