As ive stated in my forums before, upcoming fall will be my 2nd season deer. I finally got my firearms id card and purchase a shotgun. Since I live so close to the shore area I would like to try duck / waterfowl hunting. What do I need to start, do I need to buy one of those camo boats? I see theres a WMA on the barrier islands, Im assuming this is used primarily for waterfowl. Do they have blinds there or do you need to bring one? What type of shot do you use? All the basics. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I do alot of coastal zone duck hunting i have a boat i know you could probly hunt with out one but with the tide changes if you put out your decoys at low tide you wont be able to get them when it is high plus if you cripple a bird it happens often with broadies they will dive down and wait for them to come back up without a boat it would be tough.
I hunt spots in the northern zone where you dont need a boat just waders.
I use 3in shells with 2 steel shot it works well for hunting birds over decoys.
I have never hunted the area you are talking about i hunt out of cliffwood.
Good Luck
