I had my eye on some smaller gifts that the kids could put under the tree for me, and this ThermaCell portable unit caught my attention for the early bow season.
Anyone ever try one of these gadgets, or do you currently own one? Do they work?

I'll be buying one for Spring Turkey hunting. Those gnats are vicious.

I bought one for the early season this year but never used it. We had North winds about every time I hunted and somewhat cooler temps. Didn't have to deal with the mosquitos or gnats much.

It doesn't work on ticks and chiggers.

Does it come with a hook, so I can hang it next to me in the tree?

You can buy the acessory case but I just twrap a copper ground wire from a romex cable around mine. Free and does the same job.

I have it and it works great! Also use it for the back yard, and my wife uses it working in the flower gardens. No hooks, but I have the case. I just hook it to the bottom of my stand and forget it. Get about 3-4 hours per wick, and 3 wicks per butane bottle.
