I put out some code blue doe urine this morning and had a 4 pt come in nose in air. He came right under my stand,Sniffed and licked my tree steps. I guess I had a little doe sent on my hand ,that was a pretty cool time watching him. A hour later I had a spike come in. I noticed his antlers were under 3 inches so I took him for my antlerless tag. At least now I have some meat. Going back out I saw 2 rubs on trees about 5 inches in diameter. I know whos making it hope to see him tonight.

thanks, Now I could be paitient. Had 2 shooter does, 6 babys and a four pt come in tonight. Let the does walk. I'm gonna give mendham a rest i'll be in rockaway next week. I have no Idea what's walking around up there. Any info Jim.

All the deer have gone to Florida until spring!!! You might as well stay in Mendham!!!

I had a spike in the yard yesterday and I've seen that 8 point I told you about 2 more times plus another smaller 8....Thats just in my tiny corner...The Khoeler piece is the area I'm really interested in but I never got out to scout!!! I think I'm gonna do some squirrel hunting next week and see what I see...Sorry if your there and I'm shooting the place up!!

I won't be on Kholer's I'll be on my Ridge. I have always seen 120 cl [no swearing please] and up on this ridge. I think I might be in the right spot this year, Thats why I don't want to over hunt it.

Where are you gonna hunt? Do you do ML or just the 6 day shotgun?

Just shotgun this year....Zone 8...I get a couple of days in Nov. for does only then the 6 day, 3 days the next week, all of Jan and 1/2 of Feb.... I'll get my share of deer hunting in... I might go the last day of the 6 day behind my house.... Next season though I will be bow hunting back there...[up]

That right antler looks better than 3 inches from the picture, did they let you use an anterless tag on that deer?

I think the state should issue a "runt" tag for deer like that...not a doe, not a buck, but a runt, and one that needs to be killed.

Luknikk, I dont wanna bust your rump, but Im with Bowhuntergene on this one. No telling what kinda buck he could have been in three years.

You already had an antlerless deer for the regular season, were you banking this for the permit? If so, why not wait for a doe, you have plenty of time till November?

In My opinion I could have killed Two different does last night. Both were fine Mature shooters with set's of twins with them. I HATE SHOOTING DOE'S... I feel like i'm killing this years-next years-and the year after's babys. So one dead doe means 6+ dear not born. One less doe a good shooter buck won't be chasing. Don't get me wrong doe's do need to be shot,I rather not.And not one that still has 2 fawns. I rather not shoot a doe till doe day with the shotgun. That little spike gave me meat and that will last a few weeks. Now like last night I could just sit there be patiant and watch all the doe's and faws come in and out untill I see those bad boys following. That will be my next deer.
