I had a great evening last night. Went out to put up my corn feeder and prep a spot for my whitetail institute test seed. I figured Ill just use a rope and one of my screw in steps to hang the feeder. Since this was the first time using the steps I was messing around with them, got like 12 feet in the air started pulling up the feeder with 40 pounds of corn in it. I hear a noise that sounds like the tree just broke in half. I look up and theres a small 6 pointer that jump through some branches to the spot where I used to have a corn pile. Now the funny part comes, I decided I cant move and spook him so Im holding the tree with one hand and trying to hold up 40 pounds of corn on a rope with the other. Eventually I couldnt hold it any longer so I let it down slow. Didnt spook the buck, he just walked slowly the other way.
I am now definitely ready for the early archery season
