I know everyone is for CPAP...Try weighloss first if you are significantly overweight. Not only will that help with the apnea, but will lower your BP as well. That can have a significant impact. If weight is not the issue (in most cases it is) then get a sleep study done. JFK hospital as well as Saint Barnanbas have very good programs that can help you out. They'll put you on CPAP if needed or may in fact recommend surgery to remedy the problem. Working in the medical field, I see this all the time with patients. They all share one common factor...they are overweight.
