while there is good and bad being done of both I feel repo when done well are far better as they are timeless where even the best skin mounts age over time. all comes down to the artist doing the work.
for guys who dont like repos saying they dont look lifelike it def becuase you have not seen one done by someone who is a tru artist.

I have seen a bunch of stuff done by these three guys , and the pictures on their sites def dont do the work justice.

all of them have you looking for the water to release the fish.

Thanks. I have pics of a big King caught in MI a couple years ago. Didn't want to kill the fish to mount it but have been contemplating a replica. I'll give them a try.

George Dante did my mounts, some are skins and some are reproductions. Everyone knows Georges work and knows what an amazing artist he really is. That being said, I like my reproductions better then my skin mounts. Now that Im older I release everything unless its dead when it hits the deck. But if I was to have another fish ever done I would get a reproduction hands down. People that say skin mounts are better have never seen a quality reproduction. On top of that, a reproduction will last forever, it can be passed down from generations and look as perfect as the day it was done. It isnt as delicate as a skin mount.

I have both and I prefer the drop... It just looks better...

Got my repo mount from Carl from All Game... He's on the site... Awesome work. My skin mounts were from 2 other guys and no where as good.
