Saw 4 bald eagles attack a duck on the Delaware River Sunday morning. The duck escaped. Most of the eagles that I see in NJ are better scavengers than predators.

Thats the way they are everywhere, I used to have a hunting camp in NW Montana, they would sit in the trees and wait for a seagull to catch something, then steal from the gull.

Here it is rather not the inability of the eagles to hunt, but the duck's desire to survive. After all, if the victims of the hunters were doomed by default, then many species would have already disappeared.
