Booner, just be aware that many roads are closed in the Water Gap due to Irene and Lee. The link to road closures is not always correct, so it's best to call the park service before you go and get up to date info.
Layton Hotel is closed. Old Mine Rd from the Gap to Millbrook might be closed. Old Mine from Millbrook to Flatbrookvile is closed. Buttermilk Falls is nice, go after a good rain. Silver Spray Falls is right next to it and is nicer, but is a hike through tick infested woods and Russian olive.

Take the family to the Walpack Inn for a nice sit down meal.

If you have a camper you can camp right next door to the Walpack Inn. In the spring you can turkey hunt and trout fish, while the miss's takes lots of pictures. Just trying to help you out.:D
