The guy has a point, especially for those that can only get out a very few times a year or have limited resources. I don't agree with what he's doing, but why do the com's get a poundage quote and allowed to kill more fish to reach it. While rec's get a poundage quote and are made to reach it by killing less fish? I just want my fair share of the poundage and there's no reason I shouldn't be able to keep the same size fish as the com's.
The com's aren't the bad guys, it's the lawmakers that we have a grievance with.

i started working on the fluke boats as a kid in 1986. im not to sure of the year but thats close. it was a year befor they started the minimum size which was 12 inches. lots of short fish and the minimum size started to go up 13 14, 14 1/2.

we have lots of nice fluke around now, better fish. 18" is a nice fish so is a 17 and 16 inch. but these regs are in place for a reason. were heading out now for soem barnegat bay fluking. good luck to everyone on this topic.

What is the real reason? Do you really think the regs are in line and things are being managed properly?

I will put it this way...It costs us 100+ to fill the boat with gas..20+ for bait...20+ for lunch and drinks..and I live in warren county so its an hour an a half ride to the highlands. Now I'm not greedy but when i go fluking I go home with a meal...every time...regardless of 18 inches. If the trawlers are keeping at 14 im damn sure going to get a meal out of my 200 dollar day.

Gee based on that, having hunted all three past deer seasons and never got a deer, so I think I'm gonna' go shoot one now, next week in fact, on some private posted land at night. After all I spent all that time and money...I'm entitled to at least one a year right?[wallmad][wallmad]
