I think it is a pickerel. Where did you catch them? I haven't been ice fishing in a while. I have the gear, just haven't gone since '96.

by the color and the pattern on it, it looks like a pickeral to me. it has the same patterns on it as the pickeral i caught.

It is a pickeral & the one Jerseyjim is talking about is a ice shanty. When there is ice we fish ever about three day a week in NJ & NY. All fish in the gallery are from NJ. We fish a lot of contest won the kneedeep two time one with a perch one with a pickeral. Won last two years iceshanty.com contest with a pickeral & Crappie. hope we get good ice this year...nice pics perch are great eating.. I always look forward to the spring for the perch run. then the crappies soon after.

We do both Jigging & tip-up's. We just had are last bag of perch from ice fishing. Like I said when there's safe ice we go every weekend.

The sun fish do taste good but you need big one's I keep anything over 6 inches .I Clean them the same way I clean cpappie & perch . Yes I do fish Hopatcong maybe 4 times a ice season & the two kneedeep contest.

Do you fish the spring run for perch at The water way? Lots of funr. and there are some nice big crappie in that lake
