The semi-wild hunting season for pheasant, quail and partridge in New Jersey has been extended until April 4, 2005. The season was scheduled to end on March 15, 2005; however, snow cover in the northern part of the state has hampered the private stocking of birds already purchased by licensed, semi-wild hunting clubs.

This year, the Division of Fish and Wildlife issued 218 semi-wild licenses throughout the state. This allows clubs to stock and harvest game birds, hunt on Sundays and have an extended hunting season.

By regulation, the New Jersey Fish and Game may extend the semi-wild season for up to 20 days.
