So, I pretty much retired from rabbit hunting and field trialing last season (my life long passion), due to a lot of bad luck, a dead puppy and the loss of land. Decided to make a clean cut of it and get back into bow hunting. My neighbor gave me permission to hunt the 22 acres behind his/my house. A great peice of land. Bought 2 nice ladder stands. Spent hours and hours and hours of prepertaion. Baited, bought new arrows, bought new camo., bought new boots, new broad heads, a target to practice with. Washed the clothes in hunters wash, everything ready to go for today and tomorrow (my first days off in only God knows how long). Went fishing (Manasquan Res.) in the morning, left there early to be back at my house and in the woods by 2:30 and figured I would stay out till dark and then get out all day tomorrow. Got to my stand at exactly 2:30, only not to be able to find my stand. You guessed it, stolen. I cursed and stared in amazement for about 10 minutes. Looked at my bait that was down that was all torn up and then walked out and around to my second stand (my better stand, but wanted to save it until Nov.). Got there (about 300-400 yards away), and guess what. They stole that one too. I'm not sure if I actually cried, but it felt like someone stabbed me in the stomach. Went home, and have been brewing about it ever since. The only thing I can do now is build a permanent stand, but I am so disgusted that I doubt I can muster up the energy, determination and time to do it over again. I hope I find them so I can hurt them.

I wish people had more respect especially fellow hunters! Me and IMB had a trail cam stolen just recently. F'n basturds. Man I am getting worked up just thinking about it. Lets put a stand up back there and take turns watching over it and when they come to get it we can beat the crap out of them. Man I am mad for you!![mad][mad][mad]

I did not have any locks on it. The damn things weigh over 85 lbs and came in 4 peices. Figured that if someone were determined enough to pull a stand out of the woods, they would have a bolt cutter with them.

splake, it really sucks...Had the same thing happen about 4 different times on private property.Yes, I had the stands chained to the tree and the bastards used bolt cutters and left my saftey strap hanggin in the tree as to say f you.Only thing I wished is that I would catch them in the act...It realy sucks that some hunters do not have respect for others. It is bad enough with all the anti's in this state, now we have to worry about fellow hunters.I just hope that I can p [no swearing please] this great priveledge of hunting down to my son because if we keep going this way we are all going to lose our priveledge to hunt.We should all be united instead of stealing out of eachothers backyard.

I had a trail cam stolen off private land this summer. Pretty sure I know who took it, but impossible to prove.

I had a trail cam stolen 2 years ago. I also know who took it but can't prove it,the worst thing about it is that he's a State Trooper.I won't go into details but when I asked him about it I got the feeling that it took his picture on my hunting property, where he didn't belong.

Did you report the 2 stolen ladder stands? Also you can use this to your advantage with the land owner as proof he needs you there to keep an eye on things for him. Ask him for permission to post the property and get the local warden involved with the thieft....I feel for ya dude....I have a spot also where I cant use anything but climbers because everything grows legs...I always wanted to put up a stand I didnt care much about, and then 20 feet away climb another tree and mount a trail cam even with the stand and camoflage it. Then you may get pictures of someone stealing it!!...Bastards;)

I dont want to even get into my stolen items, you guys have seen my previous posts, took me about 8 months to get over the last trail cam being stolen on private property. I refuse to leave things out in the woods worth over 60 bucks anymore. Its sad but some people are just crooks.

Funny thing is in some states you can be shot over stealing someone's stuff.

You all are making a really mistaken assumption. You call these bastards hunters. They're not hunters they are theives at best and I can't name the worst in this forum. Just be on the lookout for the stands somewhere else. I found mine 4 miles from where it was stolen and left a very smelly calling card after I retreived the stand. What else can you do but shoot them.
