The passing of this bill would create "approved" and "Non-approved" species lists. Basically any non-native species that is considered capable of causing harm to the people or the ecosystem of the U.S. would be banned from being imported or transported across state lines. This is just another way for the government to control our hobbies and passions. Please do not think that this doesnt apply to you, do you own a bird, snake, lizard, hampster, spider, or any other animal then this could affect YOU.

you say animal owners are not at risk? did you watch or read any of that. say your son had a pet lizard and he goes off to school, it is illegal for him to move that lizard accross state lines. if you get a new job or you have to leave the state for any reason you bird that you have had for 40 years is not allowed to make the trip with you. please lets not be shallow minded and think that this will not affect you. i agree there are some animals that need to be monitored but your parakeet is not going to get loose and populate a huge flock of killer parakeets that are going to wipe out our native populations. my ball pythons if they happened to get loose(and theyre not) would die very quickly the first time in went to freezing.
