I remember when I first started out hunting,my dad would get everything ready for us.I was 9yrs old and could not sit still or sleep the night before we were going hunting.Dad would wake me up,drive me to our hunting spot, and make sure I was secure in my tree stand. He would be more excited when I shot deer them for himself getting one. Now, I am 35yrs old,Dad is 64yrs old and the rolles have changed.I have to get him up,Drive him to his hunting spot, set up his tree stands, and make sure he is secure in the treestand ,before I can start hunting.I even do his scouting for him and set him up in the best spots.Dad doesn't hunt jersey no more with me,but comes to NY state with me every year.He has not harvested a deer in quite a few years, so I am praying for him this year.Maybe it would put that spark back into him and he will start hunting jersey again with me.Good luck pops,I hope you shoot a big one.I will be there to clean it and pull it out of the woods for you.

wish my father would hunt but his legs are bad, and we talked about it, he has no desire to get up early, walk into the woods, and harvest a deer. He said to me "SON YOU LOVE HUNTING LIKE I DID AT ONE TIME, YOU GET THE DEER, AND I'LL EAT IT" OK dad no problem[up]

Buckfever I am in the exact same boat!!! I know exactly what your talking about! I'm 37 my dad is 65. He hasn't killed an antlered buck in like 10 years!!!! He takes a doe or two here and there but I would love to see him get a buck this year! He isn't a trophy hunter by any means but I know he would be so pumped to wack an antlered buck! I put his stand up in my first choice spot this year in hopes that will happen!
Good luck to you and your father BF!!![up]
