For me, I'd stick with the trusty old 870.

Depends on what you plan to hunt, The m887 is know as a waterfowler gun the 870 you can get a combo for 300 and get a slug barrel with it so you can shoot ducks and goose with it and then deer hunt with it the m887 is hard to deer hunt with

Thtas why they have sold more shotguns than anyother manafactuere, For example the 870 Wingmaster has more units sold today than anyother shotgun on the market know your facts bud before you talk

Love my 870[up][up][up] I would not trade it for the world. You can't beat the price, and with a few cheap accessories you can hunt anything in the world.

love my 870 too! great all aorund gun...if you are doing all waterfowl i would def go for the 887. it seems like a great starter fowlin pump..
