With my upcoming addition to the family I am looking for the best care for my pup. Do any of you dog owners carry pet insurance? If so which carriers. I want to get coverage for her in case the unexpected happens.

I would get it i never did and wish i did.
My wife came home from work one day and found our 6 year old brittany hanging from his back legs from the little gate that seperates the kitchen from the living room i got home 5 minutes after her i picked him up and rushed him to tinton falls vet center i thought he was going to die he was weezing and the vet said he dislocated his hip 2300 hundred dollars later he is back to normal.
BOTTEM LINE IS GET THE INSURANCE[up]

I use VPI Pet insurance....I used to be a K-9 Officer and I used them quite a bit....Now my sheppard who is just a house dog, is still covered...Not cheap but better to have than not if something serious comes about. I also get the Cancer coverage.....because no amount of money would stop me from treating my dogs. (I spent 12k on a sheppard with cancer).... all went on a credit card. Dave

Hey, 2300.00 is nothing, my old boss back in PA is right now spending over $10,000.00 on experimental drugs for his dog that has cancer!!! But he has no kids, and his dogs are like his kids!!!!

That was the company I was looking at. We will be getting the insurance. It didn't seem that expensive. I think it was around $30.00 a month.
