This past weekend was the season opener in MN, below is a quote from MN Coservation officer Dan Starr on the conditions he found...

Consider this from conservation officer Dan Starr who, his weekly report said, "would like to commend hunters for making his area [near Ely in northeast Minnesota] an agricultural area now, seeing all the grain in the woods. About 75 percent of stands that were walked into were found to have a hunter over bait, or baited and not used. It seems the corn, oats and pumpkin fairies are dropping bait all over the woods."
