On the pocket ranger app when you click on a WMA and it lists the game that can be hunted in that WMA. Is this a list of what is allowed to be hunted in that WMA or a list of what is most abundant in that WMA. see pic. image.jpg

I don't know for sure, but AFAIK WMAs are set aside for any type of hunting or fishing for any species as set forth in NJ game codes unless otherwise posted. An example would be Amwell Lake in Hunterdon County which allows fishing only and is posted as such prominently. However, some WMAs are very small, so large areas of them (or the entire area) could be non-huntable with bow or gun because of safety zones. There is a WMA near me that is only 40 acres where only a small portion would be huntable with a gun.

Thanks. I figured as much, but knowing this state and how they like to make stupid laws and regs just to trip people up I wanted to research a bit more. And I know some WMAs are closed to hunting.
