Sheads are fine to pick up as per a couple of years ago, before that you could not touch. There is probably info on the fish and game web sight. What you are quoting is for hunted animals. Alot of states do not allow the sale of antlers or any game animals, and N.J. sadly is one of them.

This really shouldnt be this complicated, Go out and look for a shed and stop worrying about a tag. Because you dont need a tag [up]

Can anyone find me a link or any statement that say sheds are illegal in Nj i have a [email protected]# a#$ telling me the sheds i found i need a tag. i know your allowed to have sheds in your possession just looking for some concete info

I dont know about that. I was shed hunting with a buddy of mine, and we were stopped by a ranger. He told us that it's illegal to shed hunt because you are "removing a natural resource" since it came from a deer. He said it is stupid but that's the rules. Luckily me and my friend did not have any sheds on us.
