Take a look at the bird markets, although they are now online. Of course, it is better not to take purebred pigeons from nurseries - it will be very expensive.

We use to drop a large minnow net over small back road bridges at day break and 1 person hold the net the other with hip boots on go under the bridge with a stick banging around, the pigeons fly right in the net, 1 or 2 from almost every bridge.
