Today is Patriot Day. It is not a day for politics as usual.

“The U.S. House of Representatives Joint Resolution 71 was approved by a vote of 407-0 on October 25, 2001. It requested that the President designate September 11 of each year as "Patriot Day." President George W. Bush signed the resolution into law on December 18, 2001 (as Public Law 107-89). It is a discretionary day of remembrance.

Initially, the day was called the Prayer and Remembrance for the Victims Of the Terrorist Attacks on September 11, 2001. On September 4, 2002, President Bush used his authority created by the resolution and proclaimed September 11, 2002, as Patriot Day. On this day, the President directs that the American flag be flown at half-staff at individual American homes, at the White House, and on all U.S. government buildings and establishments, home and abroad. The President also asks Americans to observe a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 A.M. (Eastern Daylight Time), the time of the first plane crash on September 11, 2001.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriot_Day)

Spend some time today remembering and praying for the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the attacks of 9/11, including those firemen, police, and other responders who gave their lives trying to rescue people they didn’t even know. Remember also the spirit of unity, patriotism, and determination that swept our country in the days following the attack.

All good stuff. Hang your flags proudly. I have a 9/11 memorial to be at tonight at 7PM and then one for the county on Sunday at 7PM. Never forget.

I was going to put out my flag, but forgot that I just retired my old one. So yesterday I made a trip to Home Depot and bought a new one. I was driving down my street and there are four flags flying on about 20 houses. How quickly we forget and become complacent, maybe we got what we deserve in Washington, D.C..

It is amazing how far to the left our country has moved since 9/12/01.
Truly amazing. I never would have believed it back then. But the reality is that there will always be the leftist liberal America Haters in our own country. It's hard to understand, but liberalism truly is a mental disorder. We must all stay strong! GOD BLESS AMERICA !!!

As long as people like us are still around Liberalism/Socialism will have to deal with Patriotism. Here are a few quotes that our nations founders had to say back in the early days of this country. I live by the second quote and keep it close to my heart everyday.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
Thomas Jefferson 1802

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." Samual Adams
