Ok, I posted these in the original thread, but I did not want it to get burried.

Ok, here are the official scores, and yes Matty I was spending time with the family.

There are only 12 targets counting the Steel Deer, so that make 11 for score.

Total point available is 110 since we are not counting 12s.

My scores,

1. 10
2. 10
3. 8
4. 10
5. 10
6. 10
7. 8
8. -5 damn turkey!
9. 10
10. 10
11. 8

Total = 89

Jordan's Scores

1. 8
2. -5
3. 8
4. 10
5. 10
6. 10
7. 8
8. -5 damn turkey but you were closest!
9. 10
10. 10
11. 10

Total Score: 74

Matty's Scores:

1. -5
2. -5
3. 10 this was the coyote
4. 10
5. 8
6. 10
7. -5
8. -5
9. 10
10. 0 this was the total miss
11. 10

Matty's Total = 38

So there they are. Anyone else shoot??

I will say, that when anyone of us was out of the vitals, it was not by much. Jordan only missed the vitals on the turkey by less than an inch low.

It is really interesting how having a wound = such a stiff penalty. If we had been using standard 3d scoring where a body shot = 5, Matty's score would have been 78 out of 110, Jordan's 94, and mine 99. Which shows how close Jordan and I actually were.

Ugh, I knew I didnt want to read my score.:([down]

Well, I'll get better! This whole 3d thing is totally new to me, and Im really into it now. When you shoot with a great group of guys, its addicting!

I have to learn to stop thinking about all the eyes watching me, and stop aiming for the off shoulder like in hunting. Take my time, think about the angle more, and aim for the rings.

Well, I know I do well under hunting pressure, but right now my confidence is low... You guys kicked my arse.:( Oh well....Its still fun, you guys are a lot of fun to shoot with. Good times!:)[up]
whens the next shoot? As long as it doesn't rain I'll try and be there.
Sept 25th, 4 Sunday of the Month.

at pequest? I'll be there... as long as it doesn't rain, or I don't goto the Game.
yep, at the pequest. It really is a very nice course. The shots are not long, only one shot which is 35 yards from the post, but most are 20 or less, and the targets are not totally clear, so you have to shoot around the branchs ect. Would really enjoy seeing you shoot the long bow as I kind of have a desire to try traditional hunting some day (right now can barely group with my recurve, but it is too short for me anyway).

-dan
what kinda recurve NJDiverDan?
Wow the guy setting up all of your bows shot the worse. I dont know if thats good or bad!
wait till Matty starts to bet[smirk]
mystic,

I have a 62" PSE Sable. It is a nice recurve, but it starts to stack a little too much for my draw. It is a 45lb bow @28", but I have a 30-31" dl with the recurve (33" with the compound).

drome,
Matty is actually a much better shot than what his score says. All the shots he scored "negative" with would more than likly been lethal on a real deer. He knows bows and set up relly well. That being said, I tune my own bow, after the shop does the initial set up, because none of the shop guys can shoot my bows (33" dl).

-dan
NJDiverDan you might want to try a long bow. Mine is way short for you, but there is some really nice long bows. Ever hear of stick & string archery? there in washington, NJ. Randy has alot of nice traditional bows, and you can shoot them to help you find a good bow.
Mystic,

Heard of them yes. I have been thinking about a long bow, but don't know if I want to start down the traditional slippery slope. I really like my wheelie bows...

I dont set these guys up...they know a lot about the equipment themselves. Besides, I could be the worst shot in the world, and still know how to work on bows, and teach shooting skills.;) (Not that I am the worst shot in the world, but I began to feel that way watching Dan hit dead center ten rings shot after shot. :D

wait till Matty starts to bet
Yeah, thats it....:D Im just suckering you all in.....Which end is up on this bow again?;)
Thanks Mystic, Ill have to remember that one.[up]
Hope to see you out there at one of these shoots!:)

Thanks Dan, my score would have you believing I was wounding all those animals, but thats not exactly the case. I should have done better though, there isnt any excuse....Great fun though...I could have lost every arrow and had fun with you guys. Well, maybe not every arrow. :D

Dan does have an unusual setup, you dont see people shooting drawlengths that long (that ACTUALLY FIT) very often! Believe me too, he knows how to dial in a rig!!

I really hope some more of you guys can get out to one of the remaining shoots this year. Its a great deal of fun.[up]

Hey Matty, I wonder if others did shoot, just don't want to post scores??? The way we set up the "official" scoring, makes for a tough shoot.

When were you thinking about running the spot "league"? After the season?

-dan
(just to keep Matty's scores to the top...:p
last time just in case someone missed the scores....

LOL... I know I am going to get crushed next time!

-dan
Bump to the top so Dan can laugh at my score some more!:D

Im planning on printing my scores out and reading them off at our next shoot as well. I figure he might not shoot as well if he has tears of laughter in his eyes![up]:D
LOL Matty, you may have a point on that one, or maybe get some sympathy misses...

hmmm, maybe next shoot I will bring my spot bow and show you how I can really shoot....
