nearly every gunman in this monthlong series of mass killings was legally entitled to fire his weapons
There's agenda for ya. At least 2 of the 7 were NOT entitled to weapons. It sounds better to conclude that "nearly every". Would it have sounded as sinister if it was re-written as "71% of the gunmen in this..."

I need to check the rest, I'll bet there were issues with at least some of the others.

From the article...

A letter that included three photos, a gun permit and Wong's driver's license was mailed to News 10 Now and postmarked Friday April 3, the day Wong killed 13 people before taking his own life in the American Civic Association community center in Binghamton, N.Y.

Are they saying he sent this stuff to the news so everyone would know he was "licensed"? If so, that is weird. Almost like he wanted people to know he was licensed but still killed people. Seems to me he was working directly for the anti-gunners.

The article also mentions that this guy slipped through the cracks on one occassion.[wallmad] At the time, they didn't think they had enough to investigate him so they just let it go. Before we make the leap to passing new laws, we should actually take a good hard look at the laws that we have and how often they are actually being enforced. At the end of the day, nothing is going to stop evil people like this from committing the acts that they commit. Guns or no guns, they will find a way to do it.
