Sunday, October 30, 2005
J.B. KASPER
There are a number of fishing tournaments highlighting the November calendar, starting with the fourth annual Hudson River Fisherman's Association Fall Surf Fishing Tournament, which will take place on Nov. 4 in Seaside Park. For information and registration, call (201) 943-8450.

The 44th annual Shanner Surf Fishing tournament will be held on Nov. 12 in Seaside Park. Registration is $35 per team and $5 per individual. For information, call (609) 263-7555.

JCAA Awards Dinner The Jersey Coast Anglers Association will host its annual Sports Person of the Year Dinner, on Nov. 13, at the Crystal Point Yacht Club. Tickets are $60 per person. For tickets and information, call (609) 641-7821.

Pennsylvania Trout Stocking Due to a problem with commercially purchased trout, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission was forced to delay stocking several lakes with trout in October. Stocking at Lake Luxembourg, which was supposed to be stocked in October, is now scheduled to be stocked on Nov. 4.

Youth Hunting Days Nov. 5 is Youth Upland Bird Hunting Day in New Jersey. According to the state Division of Fish and Wildlife, young hunters (ages 10-15 in possession of a valid Youth Hunting License and accompanied by a licensed, non-shooting adult aged 21 older) will be permitted to hunt pheasant, quail and/or chukar partridge on licensed semi-wild or commercial preserves throughout the state. This is a great opportunity for hunters belonging to semi-wild preserves to introduce youth hunters to upland bird hunting without competition from adult hunters.
