My wife and I were at Swartswood State Park over the weekend. I noticed the rangers (at least the ones that I saw) do not carry a firearm. Why not?

I guess if they have any trouble... the just call the state police.

the people you saw were seasonal employess. Full time state rangers are fully trained law enforcment officers, ie carry firearms and make arrests.

did you do any fishing at swartswood Drag? did you make the MRS. row you around the lake again? Good b [no swearing please] and pickeral fishing. they also have walleyes but i never fished for them.

They do. Some shouldn't, like the one at Hopatcong State Park who shot a seasonal employee because he "heard a noise".

I USE TO WORK WITH THE RANGER WHO SHOT THE SEASONAL EMPLOYEE, I THOUGHT HE HAD A BETTER HEAD THAN THAT.
