TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- It might cost Garden State residents more to hit the highway on a motorcycle.
New Jersey's Motor Vehicle Commission has proposed dozens of fee increases and the public has until Saturday to comment.
Motorcycle registration would cost $65 instead of $10. Motorists would have to pay $150 for the driver improvement program instead of $100. Even the cost of boat-registration applications would go up.
MVC officials say many of the fees have stayed the same for years and don't cover the related administrative costs.
The commission's board will vote on the hikes on May 26.
