Can someone shed some light on NJ legal Ak's. What is meant by a AK conversion? Lastly, any recommendations on a good gun shop that carries them? (I'm in lower northern/ upper central jersey area.

Ak conversions are typically saiga hunting rifles that are converted to pistol grip ak clones. This requires some gunsmithing or you can purchase one already converted. Check out atlanticfirearms.com I doubt you will easily find them in a store around here.

They go for $700+ around here. Henderson self defense has em for $470. If you want to go to gun shows they may be available but me and Woody finally folded and bought them online.
